Mercedes Is Pushing For The Gold
Mercedes Pushes Forward With E63 AMG S-Model & S Class Coupe.
Mercedes Benz is pushing the boundaries of what is possible with passenger cars with the new E63 Estate S series. The car is not a huge seller in the line, but among enthusiasts and aficionados it has a very loyal following. E63 is one of the fastest station wagons in production. The numbers are impressive. Zero to sixty in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 186 MPH.
The engine is all aluminum, 5.5 liter biturbo direct injection V8. The roar of this engine has a primal appeal. The only possible compromises are all wheel drive, and the significant weight of the car. The vehicle is equipped with a variety of sporty touches, including Pirelli tires and adaptive suspension.
The German company is also going to push ahead with the S550 Coupe, which dazzled at 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The production version has not changed significantly from the concept car shown to the public, and it is a stunning example of luxury and sport combined into one chassis. The S550 is loaded with a twin turbo 4.7 liter V8 with a muscular 450 horsepower rating. There is a host of safety and sporty features including newly engineered art air bags, and a state of the art surround music system from German company Burmester. The interior is second to none, with an over the top attention to details, and the finest leather, available in a variety of colors.
All told, 2014 is going to be a very impressive year for Mercede-Benz, with competition from BMW, Jaguar, and even Cadillac heating things up.
Performance and luxury have never coexisted so well. Stay tuned for more updates.
